read THIS.

you have NO freakin’ idea how mad i was when i read that.

NEVER did i discriminate black people, EVER. even in that post where i blogged about the incident that totally scared the shit out of me, i NEVER said a word about South African people.

NEVER.

this girl claims i was terrified JUST BECAUSE the dude who came to me was black.

like hello?? YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW IT WAS LIKE TO BE IN THAT SITUATION.

and no, i was not terrified because the dude is black. PLEASE, GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT.

so okay, you lost me here — WHY was i scared? WHY was i terrified and trembling? WHY did i want to call my parents? WHY did i cry?

here’s WHY.

  1. I, was alone on the platform. although KL Sentral would be a place where it can NEVER be empty/quiet, when the incident happen, i was ALONE. Everyone went on the train, but i stayed back. so i was ALONE.
  2. when a stranger comes up to you and asks whether he/she could be your friend, what’s your reaction? seriously.
  3. and this stranger seems to talk a bit too softly, on purpose, just so he/she could sit nearer to where you’re sitting.
  4. and this stranger too, with that soft voice, has this traumatizing DISTURBING tone in his/her voice.
  5. when someone asks you, “Are you shy? Are you scared?”, what comes to mind? i don’t know about you, but if someone i completely do not know asks me this, the first thing that comes to mind is “he/she wants sex.”

i hope 5 points are enough Ameeyn, if its not, let me know. i’ll give you more.

and by the way, i think you’re a racist yourself. i never for once addressed the dude as black, but you addressed me as “this Chinese girl”. you just HAD to state i was Chinese, and prove to people that just because i was Chinese, the reason i was scared was because the dude was South African.

even if the dude was Malay, Indian, Indonesian, or EVEN Chinese, if he came and approached me in that manner, i’d be terrified as hell too. so this was NEVER an issue of racism, until YOU brought it up.

you created this mess and i think you should clean it all up.

i’m mad at you for indirectly saying i’m racist because never in my life have i discriminated other races, apart from MY own race (heh).

THE END.

  1. I’m sincerely sorry you feel that way. No, Really.
You see Joyce, I take things that happen around me in one way and turn them into something funny or amusing. That’s how I blog.
Truth is, half the story on that post was made up, and even yours is only half true. So I think that makes only about one fourth of the post true.
Haha, but seriously the post was funny. I think you just didn’t see it because you thought the joke was on you (and for that I’m sorry, once more). Why else would I tell you to read it if I was mad at you or something?
And just so you know, I understand what you must have felt. But just because “I understand” that doesn’t make it not and irrational fear case.
Oh, and I called a white girl, indian, arab… I just thought it’ll be funnier that way. haha
So, Ms. Joyce, hope you understand that I wasn’t attacking you in anyway. You were just the inspiration to one of my funniest posts, and for that I still thank you :)

    My apologies,
    Ameeyn

PS. And I’m a guy by the way, I just thought writing as a girl will the the post a better flow ;)

i wasn’t going to reply your comment because you’re starting to freak me out already, but i still need to voice this out.

see, as a reader, i never thought of your entry as a joke, nor did i think it was all made up.

i bet other readers wouldn’t have known that either.

yes, you didn’t state my name nor my blog url but still, you posted comments on my blog, and MY blog readers could read YOUR blog and haven’t you thought about the consequences it would bring to me?

disguising as a girl is so wrong to me. i don’t know why you did that, but seriously that ain’t right.

by the way, to clear things up you could have just stated at the end of your post that it was made up and you didn’t mean what you said.

    unless you did.

  3. All my posts are made up like that, my readers know I never blog about anything serious. Quite frankly, I don’t take myself too seriously, and neither should you…
In all my writings, I try to write to suit the situation, and my readers do know that I’m a guy, so it’s not a disguise. They know it’s just my way of telling a story.
About your readers, I’m sorry, I didn’t think of it that way. I guess you can delete the comments or something. And I think you should because I’m starting 2 “freak” you out.
No hard feelings Joyce. I hope you understand :)

stop right there with all of this finger pointing. You have no idea how the “flaw” in our pigment gets us not only criticism but outright rejection. Sometimes in mild forms and some outright disgust. So what he called you Chinese? You are, aren’t you? What is someone called you “yellow” or “banana”? Wouldn’t it pinch you just a little harder than usual? Just like if someone called me African instead of Black, i would feel better. After all that is what i am,an African.
Being racist these days is looked down on so you don’t have to say you are one. Look at what you do…..internalize it and tell me that what you did wasn’t stereotyping which i must add is a mild form of racism.

Elle, whats with the finger pointing thing? i never started this, he did.

and by “he”, i mean the blogger who posted that entry claiming i’m racist, indirectly.

i seriously don’t think you get what’s really going on here though.

“Being racist these days is looked down on so you don’t have to say you are one.”

WHAT??! when on freakin’ earth did i say i am racist??

    SERIOUSLY. read properly yeah?

  6. “he, I mean the blogger” didn’t claim that you are racist. “He, I mean the blogger” took advantage of your irrational fear (and make no mistake, it is) and turned it into a really funny piece, which sadly is being taken all wrong.
And by the way “he, i mean the blogger” is me. I’m not disguising as “he…” =P

lol!! chill la.. hehe.. how are you doing there??

Joyce, you really have to slow down when reading paragraphs that seem endless because you are not getting what I am saying at all.Let me space out to help.

Case point number one.I did not say you were racist, I did not imply you were racist either.

Case point number two.You are finger pointing AGAIN.Nobody gives a rats ass who started what.If you constantly attack him you look like the bad guy in this movie.

    Case point number three.
“Being racist these days is looked down on so you don’t have to say you are one.”
That statement wasn’t meant to attack you in any way, don’t get carried away. The heart of the matter is that it is true.Racists are looked down on but stop to think for a second one day some stereotypes you.
Sure it might be funny but you keep opening scars for someone else.It doesn’t matter if they have 1900 siblings.

Crazy sphinx and I care because someone else might not be as kind hearted to you one day when you actually let what comes out of your head slip out of your mouth. Its just advice, luv. Not a hate crime.

  9. Just accept the advice and stop making a fuss out of it. Everyone is trying to be nice.

That was very well put Elle. I have no more case here.
    Thank you :)
